Ford Escape Cargo Space

The 2021 Ford Escape boasts a roomy cabin with ample passenger space as well as a large cargo hold for all your luggage and gear for a weekend road trip.

Drivers in Detroit, Sterling Heights, and Warren can learn more about the Ford Escape cargo space with this cargo review from Crest Ford.

Escape Cargo Capacity

The Escape has an innovative interior design, which includes sliding rear seats that can move about for better cargo or passenger configuration. With the seats up and all the way back, the cargo space is 33.5 cubic feet. This is plenty of space for shopping bags and some carry-ons.

If you slide the seats forward, you'll expand the space to 37.5 cubic feet. With the seats folded flat, the total cargo capacity is 65.4 cubic feet of space. This space is enough for camping gear, small furniture, or luggage for the whole family. You can make cargo loading quick and convenient with the available hands-free, foot-activated liftgate that opens with a simple movement while your arms are full of bags.

Escape Interior

The Escape has one of the biggest cargo holds in the class, but it doesn't come at the cost of passenger comfort and space. The interior has space for five people to stretch out and relax. If passengers are riding in the backseat and want some extra space, you can push the seats all the way back to create extra legroom. A spacious rear seat is somewhat rare for this class.

The interior has a lot of comfort features as well, such as optional synthetic or leather upholstery, heated front seats, and a heated steering wheel. A panoramic moonroof, automatic climate control, and remote start are also optional.

Escape Technology

The Escape comes with an array of technology features to enhance your driving experience. You can opt for an available SYNC® 3 infotainment system with intuitive menu options and a responsive, quick touch screen. As for your climate control and audio control, you can use physical knobs that are within arm's reach. An 8-inch touchscreen, a Wi-Fi hotspot, a Bang & Olufsen sound system, satellite radio, and navigation are optional. Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ smartphone integration are also available, which connect to your phone for streaming music and accessing your phone's features.

Several safety features come standard for the Escape, including a rearview camera, automatic emergency braking, and automatic high-beam headlights. You'll also have a forward-collision warning, which alerts you to possible frontal crashes. Upgrades include an available head-up display, parallel and perpendicular park assist, and lane centering, which keeps you safely in your lane on the highway.
