Ford Explorer Interior

The Ford Explorer has a stylish interior design with comfortable, spacious seats, and tons of intuitive technology.

Drivers in Detroit, Sterling Heights, and Warren, MI can find out more about the Ford Explorer interior with this in-depth interior review from Crest Ford.

Ford Explorer Seating

The Explorer has three rows of supportive seats to accommodate up to seven people. If you opt for the second-row Captain's chairs, that capacity is six, but you'll have a convenient center aisle.

The driver has an excellent view of the road ahead, and the cabin has an airy feel. Passengers enjoy ample head- and legroom in all three rows, which is a tall order for a three-row SUV.

Cloth seats come standard, but you can upgrade to leather upholstery and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. To make your drive more comfortable, you can also add heated, cooled, and power adjustable front seats.

Sport seats are also available, along with heated second-row seats and a heated steering wheel. For the ultimate in luxury, choose the massaging front seats. The Explorer also includes two complete sets of LATCH connectors and a middle tether anchor for installing child safety seats.

Ford Explorer Cargo Room

The Explorer offers 18.2 cubic feet of storage space with all the seats upright. This can expand to 47.9 cubic feet with the third row folded flat. With both the second and third rows folded, the space opens to a total of 87.8 cubic feet of cargo room. That gives you plenty of space to stow luggage, shopping bags, camping equipment, and sports gear.

A power tailgate is included, so loading and unloading is quick and easy. You can upgrade to a hands-free power liftgate that opens with the swipe of a foot. Plus, a power-folding third row is available for quick cargo configuration.

You'll find numerous storage spaces throughout the cabin for passengers to store keys and wallets too. Another option is the cargo management system, which includes under-floor cargo storage bins and a reversible cargo floor.

Some of the other interior features that are available include a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, a navigation system, voice control, and SiriusXM® radio. Numerous other options are offered, such as a 10.1-inch touchscreen with a vertical layout, 12.3-inch driver display, and a 14-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system.
