2022 Ford F-150 Lightning: Power Under the Hood

The F-150 Lighting is a highly capable performer in many aspects. As a new addition to the F-series lineup, you can expect lots of power under the hood. In fact, with the extended-range models, you can achieve 563 horsepower and 775 lb-ft of torque.

With that kind of power at your disposal, you'll be able to accelerate from 0 to 60 MPH in a little over four seconds! Sounds like this truck can really move at the speed of lightning. Better yet, you'll be able to assert your dominance over any terrain with its four selectable drive modes: Normal, Sport, Off Road, and Tow/Haul.

Like the Power of Thor

In the F-150 Lightning, you'll be able to tap into the power of the God of Thunder and add a spark to all of your future vacations. When properly equipped, you'll be able to tow up to 10,000 pounds and carry up to 2,000 pounds!

Ford F-150 Lightning: Power on Board and at the Jobsite

The Lightning's power doesn't stop at its belly. You'll have plenty of power from the frunk (front trunk), cab, and bed! With 11 available outlets throughout the truck, you can power up your tools and table saws from many connections on the truck.

As an all-electric truck, a fully charged battery can help you tackle many miles. However, with the available Ford Intelligent Backup Power, you can use the Lightning's power reserve to power up your house when the lights go out. When used as a generator, you can power up your house for three full days or up to 10 days with rationing.

Introducing the Frunk

Construction jobs require space for your necessary tools. With the Ford F-150 Lightning, you'll have 14.1 cubic feet of cargo room in the frunk-perfect for any tool bags or power tools you have to bring to the site.

It's also washable and drainable! Muddy or dusty work boot messes, be gone!

2022 F-150 Lightning: Life Is a Highway

Not only will you have uncompromising power in the Ford F-150 Lightning, but you'll also have a new-found travel companion. You'll have the option of a standard range or an extended range model. Let's check out how they differ:

  • Standard Range: EPA-estimated 230 miles.
  • Extended Range: EPA-estimated 300 miles.
